The future of lash serums begins with responsibility.

Why we've refined our recipes and what we're currently working on.

Why we make long-term decisions

As a family business, we bear responsibility for products that are used daily. That is why we closely follow scientific developments and adapt our formulations to new findings at an early stage.

Science Continues to Evolve

"The new scientific assessment has shown us that we want to act."

Active ingredients that have been used safely in lash serums for many years are currently subject to closer scientific review. This includes the assessment by the independent EU expert panel, SCCS.

Our Responsibility as the Dr. Massing Brand

Even though there is no general ban, we have deliberately decided to omit these synthetic prostaglandin derivatives in new formulations.

Our goal remains unchanged: effective, scientifically developed, and responsibly formulated lash serums.

Our Stance:

  • Science continues to evolve
  • Responsibility over economic interest
  • Early adaptation rather than regulatory coercion

Our Commitment

For us, long-term safety and transparent product development take precedence over short-term effects.

  • Development of cosmetics with scientific integrity
  • Collaboration with specialists
  • Adaptation to new scientific findings

FAQs

Some eyelash serums contain prostaglandin derivatives. These active ingredients can have a stronger influence on the natural growth cycle of the eyelashes, making results visible more quickly.

You can identify active ingredients from the prostaglandin derivative group by their names:IPCP (Isopropyl Cloprostenate), MDN (Methylamido-Dihydro-Noralfaprostal), or DDDE (Dechloro Dihydroxy Difluoro Ethylcloprostenolamide, Ethyltafluprostamid DDDE, Trifluoromethyl Dechloro Ethylprostenolamide). These indicate prostaglandin analogues.

You can usually find the ingredients of eyelash serums on the product website.

In August 2025, we deliberately discontinued the production of the former LongLashes Classic eyelash serum. The reason for this is a new scientific assessment of prostaglandin derivatives by the EU expert panel SCCS. According to the panel's assessment, the current study data is insufficient to definitively confirm long-term safety. Therefore, we adapted our formulations early.

No. LongLashes Classic did not contain any endogenous hormones. The active ingredient used was synthetically produced and could positively influence the growth phase of the eyelashes.

Ocean Power takes a different approach. While LongLashes Classic primarily influenced the growth cycle, Ocean Power relies on peptides, algae extracts, and growth-supporting ingredients. These complement the natural growth process of the eyelashes. As a result, results may become visible a little later.

LongLashes Classic was our bestseller for many years and very familiar to many customers.

However, Ocean Power is not an identical continuation but a new generation of eyelash serums with a different approach. While Classic significantly intervened in the growth cycle, Ocean Power accompanies the natural growth process of the eyelashes. This is why the application experience and the speed of results differ.

Eyelashes grow in natural cycles. Ocean Power supports this process rather than drastically altering it. That's why visible results usually take a little longer than with previous prostaglandin-based formulations.

How quickly results become visible is individual and depends heavily on the natural growth cycle of the eyelashes. Not all eyelashes are in the growth phase at the same time.

Most users notice first results after about 4–6 weeks. We recommend applying Ocean Power once a day. For optimal results, apply morning and evening. As eyelashes grow in natural cycles, results may vary individually.

The former LongLashes Classic and LongLashes Ocean Power were based on different active principles.

LongLashes Classic contained an activator from the group of prostaglandin derivatives, which could strongly influence the growth cycle of the eyelashes.

Ocean Power deliberately opts for a different active strategy. The formulation supports the natural growth process of the eyelashes and simultaneously strengthens their structure. This may mean that it takes a little longer for results to become visible.

Many users particularly appreciate the good tolerability and the natural result.

Yes. Eyelashes regenerate regularly and fall out as part of their natural growth cycle. When new eyelashes grow back, they may temporarily appear less dense.

Ocean Power was developed for visibly denser and stronger lashes. Sensitive, on the other hand, is particularly mildly formulated and is especially suitable for sensitive eyes or sensitive skin.
