Glass Skin – 4-Step Skincare Routine

Glass Skin – Literally translated "glass skin" or, more elegantly, "glass complexion" might sound strange at first, but it's a huge trend, especially in South Korea, and has already reached Central Europe. Blogger Ellie Choi triggered the hype by sharing her skincare routine, and thus the secret to perfect skin and a radiant complexion, which went viral and became the number one topic of conversation in the beauty world. But what exactly is "Glass Skin" and how can you achieve this trend for yourself? The glass complexion describes skin that is as pure as possible, has fine pores, and is well-hydrated. So much so that it has a natural glow that virtually eliminates the need for makeup, especially highlighter, and makes one appear particularly fresh, youthful, and radiant. Realistically, it is rather difficult to achieve this look without decorative or concealing products if you have acne, redness, naturally large pores, or similar conditions. Nevertheless, I want to give you important tips on how to make your skin purer, refine your pores, and make it smoother, thus perhaps getting closer to the Glass Skin effect. These tips can also help you optimally prepare your skin for subsequent makeup and, so to speak, create the most perfect foundation possible for long-lasting glow. So what do you need for Glass Skin? The answer is a skincare routine that provides your skin with intense moisture. You achieve this with so-called layering, meaning cleansing and caring for the face, where beauty products are applied in several layers. For an even complexion, several steps are necessary, all of which have one thing in common: moisture supply. Cleansing - Step 1 First in the daily routine is cleansing the face. For Glass Skin, the focus is on double cleansing. With this beauty trick, also from Korea, you achieve deeply cleansed skin. First, an oil-based facial cleanser is used, followed by a water-based one, to remove all makeup residues, as well as everything else that accumulates in the pores throughout the day. The oil is briefly warmed in the hands and massaged into the face in circular motions. It penetrates deep into impure skin and removes not only makeup but also sunscreen residues and skin oil, as these are also oil-based. Afterward, the face is freed from the oil layer with warm water and a washcloth. Then, a cleansing foam, gel, or milk is used to ensure a deep pore cleansing. Unlike oil, there is a plethora of products suitable for different skin types – whether dry or oily skin, combination or sensitive skin. My tip: When making your choice, ensure it is silicone-free, as silicones seal the skin's surface, preventing your skin from "breathing" properly and inhibiting the absorption of active ingredients. Toner - Step 2 Once your face is clean, apply toner. This should be alcohol-free to prevent the skin from drying out. First, dampen the face with a cotton pad soaked in toner, then gently pat it in with your fingers. This step can be repeated several times as desired. Exfoliating - Step 3 For beautiful skin, you should regularly (1-2 times a week) use an exfoliant to remove dead skin cells. Chemical exfoliants like products containing AHA or BHA are recommended here, as they are usually gentler on the skin than mechanical exfoliants. Dead skin cells are removed, and the skin immediately gains more radiance and glows from within. This is very beneficial for Glass Skin because it refines the pores. Hyalove - Step 4 Next comes the moisture part, and for that, there's nothing better than a good serum containing hyaluronic acid, like HYALOVE. If you like, you can apply two layers of this moisture booster. Afterwards, a moisturizer or face oil is used to nourish and adequately hydrate your skin. You should wait a little between steps until the products are fully absorbed. Advantages of our Hyalove Hyaluronic Serum: Moisturizing care for dry and irritated skin Noticeably firmer and smoother skin Reduces wrinkles Antibacterial effect Nourishes with 6 short, medium, and long-chain hyaluronic acids One bottle lasts for up to 100 applications For a flawless complexion, Korean women regularly, some even daily, apply face masks. Sheet masks, rich in serums, are particularly popular. Instead of using sheet masks, I recommend our active ingredient ampoules (Please insert link to ampoules), as they are highly concentrated and just as effective as a sheet mask. The advantage of our beauty ampoules is the high concentration of active ingredients and the composition of special active ingredients such as hyaluronic acid, anti-aging peptides, and oils. You can regularly integrate the active ingredient ampoules into your beauty routine and optimally support the Glass Skin effect. These steps will help you improve your complexion and create a better foundation for makeup. Especially liquid foundation adheres much better to well-moisturized and exfoliated skin than if you omit these steps. It also applies more evenly, doesn't get patchy, and, for example, doesn't settle in dry areas. These areas can otherwise become a problem and make makeup look less beautiful and uneven. Anyone who takes optimal care of their skin will also notice that they generally need less foundation, concealer, etc., as the skin naturally looks fresher and healthier. So, instead of covering up skin problems with makeup, you should address them in your skincare routine, and then it won't be difficult at all to go out completely without makeup one day. "Glass Skin" may be a trend that is not 100% achievable for everyone in this form, but everyone ultimately benefits from it. One thing is for sure: no matter what beauty trend comes next, clear skin will never go out of style.
