Long, voluminous lashes represent beauty and expressiveness. They open up the eyes, give the face more radiance, and make the eyes appear more awake. However, not everyone is naturally blessed with long lashes.
Fortunately, there are many options and treatments to achieve the dream of long lashes without having to apply mascara three times. I will give you an overview of the methods with the best booster effect – from lash lifts and lash serums to my own care methods for more growth.
Volume and Romance – Long Lashes
Long, curled, and dense lashes are a dreamy look. You can get extensions to artificially lengthen and thicken your lashes, but this is time-consuming and more expensive than my methods.
First and foremost, it is important to take good care of your lashes. The right treatment for care and protection will keep your natural lashes healthy, allowing you to lengthen them with various tricks. And always remove mascara before going to bed! Gentle mascara removal and the use of moisturizing products like lotion prevent lash breakage. Never use an eyelash curler after applying mascara, as this also quickly leads to lash breakage.
Oils like castor oil or coconut oil can promote lash growth, but their results are not always reliable and they are not suitable for every skin type. Here are my three tips for beautiful lashes:
Lash Lift
A lash lift is a good method to gently and permanently accentuate the eyes. During a lift, the lashes are curved upwards with a special lotion and permanently set. The result is lashes that appear longer and more voluminous – entirely without mascara or an eyelash curler.
The advantage of a lash lift is that this treatment lasts up to 6 weeks and the result still looks natural. But just like with extensions, this treatment is time-consuming, and not everyone has time for it every 6 weeks. That's why, instead of a lift, I have two other pieces of advice for you:
The Secret to Longer Lashes – Lash Serum
A lash serum can support natural lash growth and provide longer, stronger lashes (or even eyebrows). A high-quality serum promotes the growth of your natural lashes and intensifies their density for a stunning eye-opening effect – even without extensions or mascara.
However, many lash serums contain unnecessary preservatives or parabens, so you should look for natural ingredients. Our Sensitive Lash Serum contains biotin, hyaluronic acid, and works with botanical active ingredient complexes that stimulate hair growth and give lashes more resilience.
If you have sensitive skin and regular makeup is not suitable, the lash serum is safe for you: The Sensitive Lash Serum is specially developed for sensitive eyes and is free of silicones, parabens, and mineral oils.
An intense effect even without makeup or time-consuming appointments every few weeks for lifting and extensions is therefore very easy if you regularly use a high-quality product like our serum. The product is also great for use on your eyebrows if you want a more intense look.
Volume Mascara with a Secret Ingredient
For naturally cared-for, longer, and dense lashes with more color, you can either use volumizing mascara or combine it with a serum to emphasize the naturally grown curl. Make sure the mascara is free of harmful substances like silicones or parabens.
High-quality mascara can keep your lashes supple and well-groomed by building natural protection with beeswax. In addition, our Volume Mascara contains the magic ingredient for a stunning plumping effect and volume boost: the hyaluronic acid it contains.
Hyaluronic Acid as a True Booster for Your Lashes
Hyaluronic acid is a natural molecule found primarily in the skin and joints. It can bind many times its own weight in water, thereby having the effect of keeping your skin plump, supple, and hydrated.
In cosmetics, hyaluronic acid is often used in products such as serums and skin creams, but especially in hair and lash serums, it is a real miracle weapon.
Hyaluronic acid as an ingredient helps to moisturize the lashes, making them more supple and less brittle. Mascara tends to dry out the lashes over time – hyaluronic acid counteracts this with regular use. Because well-hydrated lashes appear softer, shinier, and more flexible.
My Care Tips
Over time, I have developed my own routine for long, beautiful lashes, which I am happy to share with you.
Cleansing
In the morning, I cleanse my face, paying special attention to cleansing my eyes and thus my lashes. Here too – don't forget your eyebrows, because they also need care!
Cool water and a gentle product are sufficient here to cleanse the face.
Sensitive Lash Serum
Due to the high effectiveness of Dr. Massing's Sensitive Lash Serum, I only need to apply it twice a day.
I apply the lash serum in the morning and then wait about 10 minutes after application to let it soak in well before I apply makeup to my eyes. In the evening, I do the same.
If you use the serum before going to sleep, I would advise you to wait about 20 to 30 minutes to let it work.
Mascara for Volume
To get more color and volume, I use our Volume Mascara; the perfect product to get a radiant eye look and at the same time nourish the lashes. The mascara is already an integral part of my make-up routine because the brush distributes the pigments well and I don't have to worry all day that my full lashes will turn into panda eyes.
If you are looking for a mascara that can make your lashes showstoppers, the Volume Mascara is perfect for you. For extra curl, you can use the Volume Mascara with Hyaluronic Acid.
Long Lashes Without a Lash Lift
The possibilities are endless; lash serums, mascara, treatments every 6 weeks. Find out what works best for you: whether good lash care and a high-quality lash serum are enough as a booster for hair growth, or whether you want to create more color and beautiful volume with mascara.
