5 Tips for Long Hair: How to Make Your Hair Grow Longer and More Beautiful

by Pia Wolter on Dec 18 2020

Long and beautiful hair – that's what we women dream of. Do you know those movie scenes where long hair falls down a back in slow motion in gentle waves, giving you the ultimate feeling of femininity and beauty? That's exactly what we want, right?

Unfortunately, reality often looks different. Most women regularly feel the desire for change - from long hair to a short haircut. From natural hair color to dyeing hair.

As soon as the hair is a little longer, it's cut shorter again. These changes feel so liberating and really do us women good, don't they?

However, for some women, this desire for change is also a must! A must for hair to look healthy and beautiful. Few women are blessed with a strong head of hair and suffer from split ends and hair loss.

How can you grow your hair long if it constantly needs to be cut?

In my Long Hair Guide, I'll tell you today how you can make your hair grow faster and how you can achieve great results with small changes in your hair routine, without constantly having to cut your hair.

1. Wash your hair correctly – less is more

Frequent hair washing can put a strain on both your hair and your scalp. Therefore, I recommend, regardless of the desire for a long mane, that you only wash your hair when it is really necessary. Ideally, 1-2 times a week.

Attention: Your hair will not like this change at first. Your hair is used to being cleaned and cared for much more often and will not always look super fresh in this initial phase.

The good news: Your perseverance will be rewarded! If you succeed, your hair will (in most cases) immediately look much shinier and healthier. Did you know that you can also "train" your scalp not to become greasy so quickly?

My little tip: Use a dry shampoo during the transition phase and mild care products without sulfates and silicones. This way, your hair stays fresh longer and isn't weighed down.

2. Use a hair mask – wellness for your hair

I used to think that my hair could do without a hair mask. In the meantime, I've been taught otherwise, which is why I treat my hair to an intensive hair mask 1-2 times a week.

I love applying the hair mask after normal hair cleansing and letting it work. During these 5 minutes, I enjoy the hot shower on my back and relax.

My hair immediately feels softer, shines, and looks fresher.

Since I have been using silicone-free shampoos for over three years, I also made sure that the hair mask is silicone-free. By the way, hair masks help your hair grow stronger and longer. Most hair masks contain active ingredients that strengthen the hair and make it healthier.

3. No towel? – then microfiber!

After washing your hair, the wet hair is quickly wrapped in a towel turban after wringing it out, and other things are done. When wringing, be careful not to damage your hair long-term - don't scrub your hair dry wildly.

When your hair is wet, it is most sensitive and breaks more easily.

Before you tie your hair up, it is enough if you gently press it into the towel and then fix it with a loose knot. It will only really get drier after 5-10 minutes in the towel anyway.

So the towel is also crucial. The softer your towel is, the more pleasant and healthier your hair will dry. I can recommend a special microfiber towel or an old cotton T-shirt.

The surface of these two is significantly softer than that of a normal towel. In addition, microfiber towels are super comfortable to wear as a turban, hold better, and dry faster.

4. Blow dry your hair – never go to sleep with wet hair

Do you also wash your hair in the evening? It's so much more relaxed, and often you combine hair wash day with a beauty day + face mask and fresh nail polish. Before you go to sleep or lie down on the sofa, you should definitely dry your hair (at least partially).

The wetter your hair is, the more sensitive and prone it is to split ends. Split ends are the reason in 90% of cases why your hair doesn't manage to grow longer. And you wanted to grow a long mane!

You should also pay attention to a few things when blow-drying. Don't hold the hairdryer too close to your hair, otherwise it will get too hot! It's best to only blow dry on a medium setting. Your hair won't dry faster just because it gets hotter. A special secret tip is my round brush with a hairdryer.

Backstory: After every haircut, the hairdresser blow-dried my hair with a round brush. It always looked so nice that I wanted to try it at home too.

Hairdryer in one hand, round brush in the other. No matter how I tried, I always needed an extra hand. After a long search, I found a round brush with a hairdryer. It works! Since then, I've been blow-drying my hair at home to be beautifully round and dry. It falls much softer and more pleasantly than with a normal hairdryer, which is why I can wholeheartedly recommend this device to everyone.

So if you want to grow your hair longer, you should consider the following things:

  1. Don't go to sleep with wet hair
  2. don't brush your wet hair too vigorously
  3. and prefer to blow dry it with not too much heat

5. Hair supplements

The first 4 tips help you to care for your hair healthier in everyday life. They are your basis for reaching your goal faster. But the 5th tip is a game-changer!

Did you know that there are also products that can promote hair growth? If you want long and healthy hair, you should definitely pay attention to your nutrient balance.

A nutrient deficiency is a reason for hair loss in many people.

Hair growth can be positively influenced by taking the right minerals, trace elements, and nutrients. I can recommend my Hair Capsules.

Learn more about the product here

By taking them, you can support your hair from within¹ and let it grow longer and healthier¹ in the long term.

A special highlight: You can effectively prevent hair loss¹, making your hair appear much thicker¹. The hair capsules are based on a highly effective formula of 27 nutrients, vitamins, and trace elements - real power for your hair.

By the way: Once you have reached your desired hair length, you should still regularly trim your ends (1-2 cm) and style your hair a bit. This preserves the natural hair structure and makes your long hairstyle look even more beautiful.

In addition to the hair capsules, I can also recommend the FullHair hair growth serum for more severe hair loss, stress- and hormone-related hair loss. It reactivates the hair roots and can make hair grow back denser and stronger.
